said_salahThe Kayd Arts and Culture has the pleasure to invite you to the launch of a new program, regular periodic under the title of “KAYD’S OPEN TALK “, with Said Salah Ahmed, 09 January, 2015, 7pm at Oxford House, Derbyshire Street, London, E2 6HG

For the launch of this important cultural landmark, we have invited Said Salah Ahmed, the preeminent poet, playwright, senior teacher and art critic, who will on this occasion, takes us through the complicated trajectory the Somali culture has traversed over the past few telling decades of the Somalis in the turbulent Horn of Africa.

KAYD’S OPEN TALK will offer new platform for the Somali communities in the UK and the Horn to think about their past, present and future. Artists, scholars, activists, and journalists and scholars who work with Somalis will be invited to discuss the Somali future and lives, and reflect on Somali experience. Amina Farah is our visiting artist, from Djibouti, an Iconic Somali Singer, well-known for her fantastic vocals and highly popular music.
