This event will feature an engaging conversation with Ali Naji, who will discuss his ongoing research on the history and evolution of Somali Funky Music. The session promises thoughtful dialogue, cultural insights, and reflections that highlight the richness of Somali musical heritage.

Abti Podcast is a leading platform created by Somali voices for Somali audiences across the globe. Renowned for its insightful hosts, honest discussions, and contemporary perspectives on culture, identity, and everyday life, the podcast serves as a bridge connecting generations through meaningful storytelling and shared experiences.

Ali Naji is a photographer, cinematographer, and researcher specialising in Somali urban music. As a visual storyteller, his work focuses on cultural and narrative-driven projects. He is also a former music producer, having served as manager and executive producer for the Dutch-Somali R&B band Moonlight & Avogadro, where he oversaw the production of their 2003 album Bella.
