We closed Somali Week Festival 2025 with a vibrant and emotional celebration at Queen Mary University. The Final Beats Concert brought together musicians and performers honouring the legendary Hibo Nuura, whose influence continues to shape generations of Somali artists.

One of the most talked-about sessions of Somali Week Festival 2025 took place at Oxford House, where we welcomed three powerful voices: Aamna Mohdin, Samatar Elmi and Muna Dahir Afrah. Each writer brought a unique perspective shaped by memory, migration and the evolution of Somali identity across generations.

Our 2025 festival opened at the British Library, and the atmosphere felt electric from the moment the doors opened. Guests arrived early, filling the hall with the familiar excitement that always surrounds Somali Week — a mix of community pride, reunion energy, and anticipation for what the next ten days would bring.
